Ontario PNP holds a huge round of invitation, welcomes 1,685 candidates

On July 13, 2021, Ontario conducted 3 major Ontario PNP draws. They were aimed at:

• international students,
• foreign workers, and
• those with a job offer in rural communities.

A total of 1,685 immigration candidates with EOI profiles were invited by OINP in this draw. The number of invitations issued via the Employer Job Offer streams in this draw is the largest to date in 2021.

General draws

• 1,211 immigration candidates were invited via the Foreign Worker stream. They required a minimum score of 33 points to qualify. Being a general draw, there were no location requirements or target occupations.
• 431 immigration candidates were invited via the International Student stream. The minimum EOI score required to qualify was 62.

Targeted draw

• 43 immigration candidates were invited via the Regional Immigration Pilot stream. The candidates were registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot. They also had the chance to qualify for the 2 Employer Job Offer streams.

About Foreign Worker Stream

This stream comes under the Employer Job Offer category. It’s open to foreign nationals who have received a job offer that’s deemed eligible from an employer in Ontario. You can apply for a nomination from outside Canada also if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility requirements

• 2 years of work experience in a skilled occupation
• An eligible job offer in Ontario
• An intention to immigrate to Ontario

About International Student Stream

This stream comes under the Employer Job Offer category. It’s open to foreign nationals who have received a job offer that’s deemed eligible from an employer in Ontario. You can apply for a nomination from outside Canada also if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility requirements

• Must have completed a study program at a Canadian DLI
• An eligible job offer in Ontario
• An intention to immigrate to Ontario

About Regional Immigration Pilot

• It addresses labor shortages in certain communities in Canada.
• The province can allocate 150 nominations this year to the rural locations of:
  • Quinte West/Belleville
  • Cornwall
  • Chatham-Kent
