The Australia Skills in Demand is a temporary visa that lets foreign skilled workers live and work in Australia for up to 4 years. To qualify for the Subclass 482 visa, the skilled worker must be nominated by an approved Australian sponsor in a Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
The Skills in Demand visa replaces the previous Temporary Skill Shortage Visa. Under the new Subclass 482 visa, individuals with highly in-demand skills can receive a nomination from Australian employers. The new 4-year Australian SID visa provides employers with the flexibility to switch employers while offering Permanent Residency (PR) pathways.
Subclass 482 Visa is categorized into three major streams that are listed below:
The Core Skills stream issues invitations to foreign workers with professions listed under Australia’s New Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL). The minimum salary required to apply for the Core Skills stream visa is around $73,150 AUD per annum.
The Australian government released the new Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL). The new list of occupations is shortlisted to meet the labour market needs of the Australian job market. It is designed based on the Labour Market Analysis with input from the government and industry stakeholders.
