Let’s see why it’s a good idea to get a Denmark investor visa and start a business in Denmark.
Introduction to Start-up Denmark
As a foreign entrepreneur, you can benefit from the Start-up Denmark scheme. This scheme is meant for entrepreneurs like you who are granted a residence permit in Denmark so that you can set up and run a company that’s innovative and growth-oriented.
There will be a panel of experts who will approve your business idea. This panel of experts is appointed by the Danish Business Authority. The scrutiny of your business idea will be done before SIRI can process your application to obtain a residence and work permit on the basis of the Startup Denmark scheme.
Even a team of up to 3 individuals willing to start a business together in Denmark can make use of the Start-up Denmark scheme.
Under the scheme, you must be financially self-sufficient to meet your expenses for the first year in Denmark. If your family is coming to Denmark along with you, you must present the document proving that you are able to support them financially. E.g., bank statement.
The residence permit under this scheme will have a 2-year validity which can be extended for up to 3 years at a time. The application for extension must be filed before the expiry of your resident permit in Denmark. Only then can you continue to run your business in Denmark.
Note that if the validity of your passport ends before the validity of the residence permit, the life of the residence permit will automatically get reduced accordingly. Renewal of the passport will be done before applying for an extension of the residence permit.
