If you want to migrate to Canada to work and live there, you have two options; one is to move to Canada on a PR visa after landing a job offer or to search for a job with an employer in that country once you land there. Another option is obtaining a job and moving to Canada on a work permit.
If a Canada-based employer wants to hire you, he must get a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). International workers who apply for a work permit would need to carry in person a copy of the LMIA as part of their application for work permits.

LMIA's importance
LMIA is short for Labor Market Impact Assessment. Employers in Canada desiring to hire skilled migrant workers must extend their support to them with Canada's permanent resident visa applications to offer a job under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) Express Entry system.
Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) issues an LMIA. Simply put, LMIA is a process that demonstrates that certain employers in Canada are unable to hire suitable candidates to fill specific positions/roles in the country, allowing them to hire international workers.'
LMIA requirements criteriaNeed to advertise: Employers of this North American country must show evidence that they strived to fill job vacancies by hiring a citizen or permanent resident of Canada. Because the efforts proved to be unsuccessful, they were forced to hire foreign workers for those positions.
Employers should have advertised for all job vacancies in the country's job market in a bid to hire locally for a minimum of four weeks before they apply for an LMIA.
Job requirements: If a Canadian employer is applying under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) for an LMIA, the job offer should be full-time, permanent, and only for highly skilled positions such as NOC A, B, and O.
It is incumbent on a Canadian employer to prove to the government authorities that they were unsuccessful in finding an eligible Canadian for a specific position before getting an LMIA certification.
With the LMIA certification, employers are therefore allowed to hire foreign workers as they were not able to hire for particular roles in Canada.
Intimation to government
Employers of Canada will need to provide various information details if they intend to hire an intentional worker and obtain LMIAs. It would require them to furnish details of the jobs for which they intend to recruit foreign workers, including the number of Canadian applicants for those vacancies, the numbers interviewed, and reasons detailing why they were not found suitable.
Fees for processing and validity
Employers should pay 1,000 CAD for each position they need to hire to cover the processing cost of a dual intent LMIA application. LMIAs have six months of validity from the date they were issued on.
LMIA categories
There are two categories of LMIAs: Temporary job offers and permanent job offers. The LMIAs are two-year permits for permanent job offers that can be extended for two years. On the other hand, for temporary job offers, LMIAs are valid only for a maximum of two years, and extension of which is not permitted.
A component of one of the various regulations to defend the interests of the Canadian locals employed in the labor market, LMIA ensures that when it hires international workers, it does not adversely affect the workforce of Canada in any way.
