The extension has been given for respondents to the above US immigration requirements considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulties owing to the restrictions it caused.
Besides this, USCIS will consider Form N-336 or Form I-290B if:
The form was submitted under 60 calendar days starting from the date of issuance of a decision made by USCIS
USCIS made such a decision anytime from March 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021
