Highlights: Immigration to UK crossed 500,000 in June 2022

• UK immigration made the record of inviting half a million people in 2022
• Around 504,000 more candidates immigrated to UK till June 2022
• The new visa schemes for Ukrainians, Afghanistan and Hong Kong refugees added 186,000 to the number of immigrants
• Students from non-EU countries contributed to increase in UK immigration numbers

Number of candidates immigrated to UK went up to 504,000 in June 2022

Net immigration to UK till June 2022 has risen up to around 504,000. The number of immigrants increased due to non-European citizens. Another reason for the increase was the refugees from the following countries:

• Ukraine
• Hong Kong
• Afghanistan

The number of immigrants from these countries was 186,000. Immigration of students from non-EU countries has also contributed to increase in the number.

Some business leaders in the recent years asked the government to make immigration easy.

Immigration of students to study in UK

Students from different countries also came to study in UK and this also increased the number of UK immigration. Rishi Sunak has launched scholarships to attract young AI talent.
