Here, we discuss an interesting topic for all those who are looking forward to immigrating to Canada. We will look at the prospects of entering the Canada Express Entry pool in this period of time to secure a chance to immigrate to Canada.
The current scenario
You must already be aware that Canada has set a pretty huge immigration target for the years from 2021 to 2023. In 2021 itself, Canada is aiming to bring in 401,000 new immigrants. This leaves a lot of opportunity for a lot of skilled immigration candidates to chart a course to land to live and work in Canada. And Express Entry will be the major pathway to make that happen.
The FSWP is the immigration program that will be mostly used to immigrate to Canada under Express Entry. In fact, almost half the immigrants apply for the FSWP program and the other half apply for the other programs like CEC and FSTP.
Canada has been inviting CEC candidates more after the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was to avoid the disruptions in the admission that happened due to travel restrictions owing to the COVID-19. But with the COVID situation improving in Canada and restrictions getting lifted gradually, overseas candidates are getting more opportunities to immigrate to Canada.
There are many FSWP candidates in the Express Entry pool waiting for IRCC to resume the issuance of ITAs to them. And they are expecting that to happen sooner.
The prospect of entering Express Entry right now
If you are planning to enter the Express Entry pool now, the only challenge you will face is that your language test results will expire in case you get no ITA within 2 years of test completion.
But even if you run into that issue and have to take the language test again, the effort will be worth it considering your chance to obtain Canada PR.
So, to ensure that you get an opportunity to get an ITA for sure, you must enter the Express Entry pool.
Also, since Express Entry is an unpredictable pathway for immigration, you will never know when IRCC will resume calling FSWP candidates. If you are in the Express Entry pool, your opportunity to receive an ITA will be live.
It’s not only the federal selection of immigration that can be secured if you are in an Express Entry pool. Canadian provinces also access the Express Entry pool to find immigration candidates suitable for their labor market requirements. If you are chosen from the Express Entry pool, the province will offer you a provincial nomination. If you accept it, you will get 600 extra CRS points, which will increase your chances of getting an invitation to apply for a Canada PR visa in an upcoming federal draw.
Hence, it will be beneficial for you to join the Express Entry pool right away.
There’s yet another advantage of joining the Express Entry pool. You will get the opportunity to create a Plus Account in the job bank of the Canadian government.
With this facility, you will get access to suitable employment opportunities in Canada. The chances of getting a job offer are also high here. If you receive a job offer this way, you will get 50 or 200 extra CRS points. Again, these extra points can increase your chances of receiving an ITA to apply for Canada PR in a federal immigration draw.
So, the bottom line is that, for all the reasons we cited here, it’s highly advised that you join an Express Entry pool by creating a profile there.
