Cap count reached for USA H2B visa.

Under the H-2B supplemental cap (FY TFR), applications for H-2B visas were to be submitted by May 14, starting from April 01, 2024. The USCIS reached the cap count for the 19,000 visas available to returning workers for the early second half of FY 2024.

 

Under the FY 2024 allocation for returning workers, the final receipt date for supplemental H-2B visas was April 17, 2024. However, the USCIS is still welcoming applications for H-2B non-immigrant workers for an additional 20,000 visas granted to citizens from El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, Haiti, Costa Rica, and Ecuador who are excluded from the returning worker requisites. The USCIS also accepts petitions from workers accepted from the mandatory cap.

H-2B applications for the second half of FY 2024

The USCIS will start accepting applications for the latter half of FY 2024 from April 22, 2024. Employees who requested employment from May 15 to September 30, 2024 are eligible to apply. 5,000 visas are reserved for returning workers who were granted H-2B visas or had H-2B status in FY 2021, 2022, or 2023, irrespective of their nationality.
