Extension on FY-2025 H1-B Registration period 

The H1-B registration period, which was to end on March 22, 2024, has been extended till noon Eastern on March 25, 2024. The USCIS announced this extension to help those registrants who experienced a temporary system outage. 

The USCIS aims to accommodate affected registrants by extending the FY 2025 H1-B cap registration period. During the extension period, petitioners and their representatives can use the online USCIS account to register their beneficiaries electronically for the selection process. They will also be required to pay the associated registration fee for each beneficiary. 

 

Note: USCIS will notify the selected registrants by March 31, 2024, as per the immigration agency. 

 

New USCIS Initiatives

The new myUSCIS organizational account was introduced by USCIS on February 28, 2024. This was done as a part of the USCIS initiative to facilitate collaboration among individuals and their legal representatives for H-1B registrations. Starting this year, individuals willing to participate in the new H-1B Electronic Registration process must create a new organizational account. 

The USCIS also initiated Tech Talk sessions in February 2024 to support organizations and legal representatives understand the new process. According to the USCIS, "These sessions serve as a platform for individuals to seek clarification regarding organizational accounts and online filing of Form I-129 for H-1B petitions".

Steps to Apply for H-1B Visa 

You can follow these steps to apply for H1-B visa: 

Step 1: Determine the type of visa from the list of common Non-Immigrant Visa 

Step 2: Fill out the DS-160 form 

Step 3:Pay the required amount for visa fees 

Step 4: Schedule appointments with the Visa Application Center (VAC) and the US Consulate or Embassy via the official website.

Step 5: Gather the documents needed for the appointment. 

Step 6: Upload your biometrics   

Step 7: Attend the interviews at the scheduled time.
