UK’s 2024 Henley Passport Index

Henley & Partners, a UK-based consulting firm, released the Henley Passport Index and recently published the 2024 Henley Passport Index statistics.

 

The passports in the index are ranked based on the number of countries they can enter without requiring an e-visa/visa. The data is taken from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) to complete the passport ranking process. The ranking index shows 227 destinations with easy access and 199 passports.

 

Four European and two Asian countries have scored top positions on the list with visa-free entry access to 194 destinations.

 

The list of countries with the most powerful passports in the world is as follows:

The U.S. ranked seventh, along with Hungary and Canada, while 25 other countries ranked higher on the index. The countries that need a visa for U.S. passport holders are China, Vietnam & Brazil.  

 

As per the International Trade Administration (ITA), 67 million U.S. citizens traveled abroad in 2023. Traveling to Canada, Italy & Mexico, amongst other destinations, is visa-free for Americans.
