People from all over the world desire and try for Canada immigration. Canada is a country that welcomes skilled and talented people from other countries. The development of Canada has been nourished by the influx of immigrants from all parts of the globe.

There are many opportunities Canada presents for career development and residency. UAE may not yet be a major contributor to Canada’s immigration. But you need to learn how easy and accessible Canada has made it for you to migrate. With the greater presence of Canada immigration agency services in UAE, it’s time you tried.

Know the visa types

Permanent residency in Canada can be achieved using any of the following visas:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (Express Entry)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)
  • Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

Federal Skilled Worker Program (Express Entry)

This is a federal program managed through Express Entry Program. Through this program, you can live anywhere in Canada, except in Quebec. This is because Quebec has its own skilled workers program.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Again, this program allows you to apply through the Express Entry Stream. The application is invited directly from a province in Canada. This program invites skilled workers with stipulated education and work experience. It can vary from case to case. The chosen ones will work and contribute to the economy of the specific province. The visa also allows them to become permanent residents of Canada.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

This pilot program is the source of skilled workers for employers in Atlantic Canada. This program invites skilled foreign workers and international graduates. The graduates would be planning to stay in Atlantic Canada after they graduate if the employers are unable to fill the jobs locally.

Get Educational Credential Assessment done

How can Canadian authorities confirm that your educational credentials are in line with theirs to be eligible? That is where the ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) comes into play. Certain specified Canadian agencies are designated for this purpose by the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada). These agencies check the validity and compatibility of your qualifications with their norms.

  • International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
  • Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
  • International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
  • World Education Services
  • International Credential Evaluation Service

Compatibility of your educational qualifications with that of Canada can earn you points during selection. This increases your chances of getting your application selected.

Language Test

To migrate to Canada, you will need to prove your skill in the official languages of Canada. These are English and French.

For English, you should attend the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). There are umpteen registered organizations in the UAE, including ours, who can train you in it. Another program named Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is also accessible in the UAE.

For French, you must take the Test d’evaluation de Francais (TEF).

Calculate the points

The points required for each migration program are different.

  • For Express Entry Programs, the minimum points needed is 67 (out of 100).
  • Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), scored out of 600, will have points requirements that change from time to time. This will need to be checked with your immigration agent or on the IRCC website.

The scoring pattern and eligibility requirements for PNPs varies with each province.

Complete your documentation

To move to Canada, you will have to first submit an Expression of Interest. For this, you will need to submit your

  • Passport/Travel document
  • Report of Educational Credential Assessment
  • Provincial nomination (if applicable)
  • Job offer in writing from an employer in Canada (if you have one)
  • Language test results

Your Expression of Interest will go to an Express Entry Pool based on your credentials and points earned. Upon successful nomination, you will be awarded 600 points additionally.

Once in the Express Entry Pool, you will be eligible to look for a job through the job bank. You can earn extra points too.

Receive an invitation to apply for Permanent Residency

Express Entry Programs are organized by the Canadian government. You can apply for Permanent Residence. How fast your application will get accepted is dependent on your CRS score. You will then receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

You will need to respond to the ITA within 60 days. You should scan and upload all the necessary documents and pay the necessary fees. You will also need to give your biometrics. The biometrics can be given at VFS offices in the UAE.

Submit the passport for stamping

Upon approval of the application for PR, you should visit the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. You must get the Permanent Residence visa stamped on the passport. Once the passport is returned with the stamp, you must make your first landing in Canada within six months. Your immigration agent will be the best person to advise you on how to prepare for the first landing.

All you need is the will and patience to go through each step of the immigration process to go to Canada. With agencies like us, you will never need to worry about going through the formalities.
