NOC 2171 – Information Systems Analysts and Consultants

During the pandemic, the demand for professionals in this occupation has increased in Quebec. A major reason is that businesses have started shifting their operations to remote and home-based working practices.

There was an increase in average employment by 30.9% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.

NOC 4031 - Secondary School Teachers

Many schools in Quebec have shifted to online learning in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, more teaching staff have been hired in Quebec.

There was an increase in average employment by 27.2% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.

NOC 2174 - Computer programmers and interactive media developers

These are professionals who can work remotely and hence contribute immensely to whichever project or enterprise they are working for. This is especially important as many industrial sectors of Quebec have gone ahead with their digital transformation.

There was an increase in average employment by 17.4% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.

There was an increase in average employment by 52.9% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.

NOC 1111 – Financial Auditors and Accountants

These professionals were in high demand for those who were worried about their personal and business finances during the COVID-19.

There was an increase in average employment by 18.4% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.

NOC 3131 – Pharmacists

The importance of pharmacists has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. These professionals are approached for medical opinions, consultations, the extension of prescriptions, and adjustments in medication. They help those a lot who aren’t yet having access to doctors.

There was an increase in average employment by 59.5% between 2019 and 2020 in this occupation.
