Canada immigration will launch new immigration pathways on May 6, 2021, that are meant for skilled foreign workers in essential occupations. These include healthcare workers, cleaners, and cashiers.
TFWs in 135 essential occupations can apply for the new Canada PR pathways. Skilled workers at work in Canada outside Quebec will get permanent residency in Canada via the new program.
The new program will be open until November 5, 2021. This will otherwise be until workers are recruited to 20,000 vacancies for healthcare workers and 30,000 vacancies for other essential workers.
French speakers could be eligible for the pathway for French-speaking TFW in essential occupations. The vacancies for this program are unlimited.
