Saudi Arabia to launch a new Tourist Visa soon

The inaugural Formula E race, Saudia Al Diriyah E Prix, is to be held in Riyadh this year. Saudi Arabia has hence announced a new Tourist Visa to allow international fans to travel to the country.

Tourists would be able to apply for the new visa online. With the launch of a new electronic visa process, Saudi Arabia would be able to open their gates to fans of live sports, music, and culture. The Saudi General Sports Authority said so in a statement to Arabian Business.

The new Visa process platform will be launched on December 15. The platform has been named Sharek.

Ad Diriyah, the historical city, will soon host one of the biggest festivals of the year. The festival will have car racing, live music, and entertainment for over a period of 3 days.

Saudi General Sports Authority’s announcement was attended by famous Formula E stars. Felipe Massa, Andre Lotterer, and Susie Wolff were the stars who were present.

Sharek has been launched as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy for the future. It is spearheaded by Mohd. Bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince.

Organizers have expressed hope that a large number of racing fans would take advantage of the new Visa process and travel to the event.

With the launch of Sharek, Saudi Arabia would be able to share the grand event with the world. This was quoted by Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, who is the vice-chairman of the Saudi General Sports Authority. He felt that the association of a futuristic and viable sport as the Formula E will pave the future direction of the country. He also hoped that international fans would arrive in the country in droves to witness the sporting spectacle.

The Formula E event has been sanctioned officially by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The country has worked with UNESCO to build the tracks for this even from its existing road network. The Saudi Arabia Govt. will soon announce more details about the event in the coming weeks.
