Quebec held a round of invitations for immigration applicants on March 30, 2021, inviting 208 immigration candidates to apply for a permanent selection.
MIFI invited these candidates under the RSWP. These candidates had filed an EOI in Arrima, Quebec’s online registration portal. The categories from which candidates were invited included:
This draw is the second one conducted in 2021 in Quebec. Quebec’s immigration programs, selection criteria, and associated processes are separate from Canada immigration programs. Nevertheless, IRCC makes the final decision on approving immigration applications.
Arrima, introduced in 2018, is Quebec’s system of managing applicants for the RSWP. It also simplifies the intake system of applications which worked on a “first come, first served” basis earlier.
Candidates above 18 years of age, trying to immigrate to Quebec via RSWP must have an EOI profile in Arrima, the online portal for immigration applications. The profile gets added to a pool from where they are selected based on their skills, and potential to integrate into Quebec society.
Invited candidates have 60 days to apply for immigration, along with paying the required fees and submitting all requisite documents.
In 2021, Quebec targets welcoming up to 47,500 new immigrants.
