From Jan 12, 2021, applications for the Quebec Experience Program can be submitted electronically via the Arrima platform. Applications for PEQ, widely known as the Quebec Experience Program, can be submitted via the Arrima platform along with paying the fees and downloading the documents required.
As was informed by Quebec, applicants can file paper-based applications only till January 25, 2021. Any applications filed after that date will have to be submitted online as Quebec will no longer accept paper applications.
This is a change that is similar to what was prescribed for the Quebec Foreign Student Program. The applicants to this program are also required to file their applications via the Arrima platform from January 26, 2021.
The MIFI has also made it mandatory that the documents required for 3 more immigration pilot programs are done electronically. These 3 new immigration pilots will be for those who work in Canada in the sectors of food processing, health, and computer.
In 2021, Quebec is expected to bring in close to 47,500 newcomers. In 2020, the target was 44,500 newcomers, which wasn’t met. The shortfall in Canada immigration to this province will be made up this year.
Most of Quebec’s new immigrants are expected to arrive via the province’s economic immigration programs.
