The Canadian province of New Brunswick has decided to give certain categories of immigration candidates priority for processing their visa applications. These candidates for New Brunswick immigration include

  • Candidates who belong to 12 health-related occupations
  • International graduates who studied at New Brunswick
  • Francophones

The step of granting priority to these categories of Canada immigration candidates wanting to get Canada PR has already been taken. The ONB (Opportunities New Brunswick) Immigration is taking specific measures with the intention of managing applications received through the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream till the end of the year 2022.

About New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream

The aim of this immigration stream is to enable immigration candidates who have obtained a job offer from an employer in New Brunswick. The job offered must be permanent and full-time in nature.

Eligibility requirements for New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream

Hold a genuine job offer

The job offered must be a permanent, full-time position in an occupation considered eligible. Here’s a classification of requirements based on skill levels:

High-skilled workers:

NOC 0, A, B TEER 0, 1, 2 & 3
Low-skilled workers: NOC D skill types 7, 8, and 9

TEER 5

Semi-skilled workers:

NOC C

TEER 4

Have the necessary qualifications

Candidates have to show that they are qualified for the job position offered to them.

Be assured of a competitive wage

It’s necessary that the wages offered must:

  • Be the same or exceeding the median wage level for the job in the specific region of New Brunswick
  • Be consistent with the wage structure of the employer
  • Be at par with the rate paid to workers who have an experience and training of similar level for same kind of jobs in New Brunswick

Have the intention to live in New Brunswick

It’s mandatory for the applicants to prove that they have a genuine intention to live in New Brunswick. Such an intention can be demonstrated in the following ways:

  • Give a description of actions taken with the intention to do permanent settlement in New Brunswick.
  • Show current employment in New Brunswick.
  • Furnish details of your search for employment.
  • State the length of any previous and/or current period in which you lived in New Brunswick.
  • Demonstrate community involvement.
