Portugal Announces Plans to grant Work visas in less than a month

The Portuguese Government is in talks to reduce the processing time of work visas. The country plans to issue work visas to foreigners within 30 working days. Portugal is currently facing labor shortages across different sectors. To address the ongoing workforce crisis, the country is looking to take in nearly 100,000 foreigners every year, with the construction sector alone seeking 80,000 additional workers.

 

Portugal is discussing measures to streamline and accelerate the visa application process for foreign nationals to acquire a work visa. By doing so, the country hopes to retain a skilled workforce that can boost the economy.
