On April 30, 2020, Ontario issued invitations to bilingual Express Entry candidates.
The chosen candidates may be eligible for Canada immigration through Ontario’s Express Entry FSSW (French-Speaking Skilled Worker) stream.
This is the largest FSSW draw of 2020 so far. It had 307 Notifications of Interest (NOI). The first draw of this kind was held this year on January 9. It invited 242 bilingual candidates who were eligible to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
The invited candidates have 45 days to apply their provincial nomination. The application will be made online.
Those invited in the April 30 draw have profiles in the federal Express Entry system. Upon receiving a provincial nomination from Ontario, 600 points will be added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
The added points would effectively guarantee the candidate Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in an upcoming federal Express Entry draw.
For the FSSW, candidates must meet the eligibility needs of the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class. They should also have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of a minimum of 7 in French and 6 in English.
This is the second Express Entry-linked draw by Ontario in 2 days. The April 29 draw targeted candidates in 14 skills trades occupations.
