Ontario has announced that the intake of candidates for Canada immigration’s In-Demand Skills stream has been closed for the rest of this year. The decision was effective November 16, 2020. The registration intake for the stream has been exhausted for 2020.
Ontario added 13 new eligible occupations in manufacturing to expand the scope of the stream in July 2020.The new occupations are for positions that are based outside GTA. They became eligible as the stream opened for applications again on July 6, 2020.
With the 13 additional occupations, the total number of eligible jobs for the stream came to 23. The positions featured in the stream are low or semi-skilled occupations that fall into NOC C or D categories.
