A fresh pathway has opened up in Canada immigration that leads to permanent residence for prospective Ontario immigrants. This pathway is the Regional Immigration Pilot under OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) that is now accepting applications to this Pilot program.
Candidates, willing to work in Canada, will be eligible for the Pilot if they meet the criteria fixed for OINP Employer Job Offer Streams. Besides that, they must have a permanent full-time job offers from employers in any of the following Ontario communities:
The Regional Immigration Pilot is a 2-year pilot. Under it, 150 nominations are allocated for applications directed to these communities. The OINP is raising awareness among employers in the province through marketing and outreach activities. OINP also gives them business service support.
Apart from this, OINP is also entering into partnership with stakeholders so that it can leverage local business succession under the Entrepreneur stream.
The Regional Immigration Pilot aims at connecting eminent immigrants with occupations in small and rural communities of Ontario. With their skills, the specific challenges in terms of labor in these locations will be addressed effectively. These locations can also help newcomers to settle and work in Canada.
Candidates under the Employer Job Offer category must have a job offer in Ontario to be eligible. The eligible candidates for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) do not even need to be present in Canada.
There are 3 streams under Employer Job Offer category:
The applicants must submit an intake form to apply for the pilot. It must then be emailed to the OINP.
