Ontario has issued 361 invites through its Skilled Trades Stream in its latest draw. The draw was held on 21st March. The OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) issued 361 invitations to candidates who had submitted their EE profiles between 21st March 2018 and 21st March 2019.
The Express Entry system manages the pool of applicants for the below migration programs of Canada:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
Ontario’s Skilled Trades Stream nominates FSTC and CEC candidates in the EE pool who are currently living and working in the province. These applicants should have at least 1-year full-time work experience or an equivalent amount of part-time work experience in Ontario. The work experience has to be in any skilled trade listed on the NOC under:
Minor group 633
Major Group 72,73, or 82
To apply under Ontario’s Skilled Trades Stream, an applicant has to meet all the requirements prescribed by OINP. However, a job offer is not mandatory to apply under this stream, as per CIC News.
Candidates who receive a nomination through the Skilled Trades Stream receive 600 extra points on their CRS score. Thus, nominated candidates are guaranteed an Invitation to Apply from the Express Entry System to apply for PR.
732 invitations have been issued through the Skilled Trades Stream by the OINP in 2019.
