Ontario, through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, issued 85 NOIs (Notifications of Interest) in its September 20 draw. It followed this up with 46 more NOIs being issued to French-speaking candidates in the OINP draw held on September 27.
In 2018, Ontario issued a total of 1,196 invitations through its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream. It has been conducting draws almost on a weekly basis through this stream since January 2018.
French-speaking candidates who also have strong English language proficiency and wish to settle permanently in Ontario may apply for this program. Candidates will need to have at least a score of CLB 6 in English.
The eligibility criteria for the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream are:
Should have a valid profile in the Express Entry pool
Should qualify either under the Canadian Experience Class or the Federal Skilled Worker Program
Should have at least one-year work experience in the recent 5 years under the FSWP criteria or one year in the recent 5 years under the CEC criteria
Should have an education equivalent to a Canadian bachelors
Should have a minimum score of CLB 7 in French and CLB 6 in English
Should have sufficient funds to support self and the family
Should have an intention of permanently settling in the province of Ontario
If currently living in Canada, the candidate should have a valid Visa for Canada
