• Pass program helps to shorten the arrival time of international nurses who want to migrate to Canada.
• From March 2023 to January 2016, PASS benefited more than 1,425 internationally-international nurses from 90 countries.
• From April 2022 to March 2023, 205 international nurses joined PASS and accessed its benefits.
• Ontario is looking to hire 33,000 nurses by 2028.

Details of PASS (Pre-Arrival Supports and Services):

The PASS program focuses on shortening the time for international-educated nurses for professional registration and employment, as most foreign nurses arrives from the Philippines, India, Nigeria, and the United States.

 

The PASS program is a no-cost registration program. To register in the PASS program, internationally-educated nurses have to provide certain documents to IRCC, such as:

 

• Must have a proof of graduation from a Nursing school 
• A letter of confirmation proving their PR status

 

Besides that, the Toronto-based non-profit organization offers its Workplace Integration Program (WIP), which helps hire international educational nurses on staff.

 

As per the prediction, Canada’s nursing shortage will reach 117,600 nurses by 2030.
