There were 150 more Canada immigration candidates who received invitations for PR nominations through a Nova Scotia PNP draw. This draw that happened on November 7, 2022, paved the way for French-speaking immigration candidates to arrive and settle in a province outside Quebec which is Canada’s only francophone province.

In fact, the Canadian government is keen on increasing the number of francophone immigrants arriving in Canada and settling in regions outside Quebec. To learn more about this trend, visit “Canada Express Entry reforms to bring major changes in early 2023”.

More about the draw

The candidates received invitations through Nova Scotia’s Labor Market Priorities Stream which is linked with Canada Express Entry. Candidates who chose French as their language for a qualifying test had to score 10 points in all linguistic abilities in the CLB system. In fact, this was mandatory for them.

Besides the French score, they also had to score at least CLB 7 in the English language. Other requirements include the following:

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree or must have attended and completed a program of a duration not less than three years. This must be completed at a college, university, trade/technical school, or any other institute in Nova Scotia.
  • When you submit your application for PR nomination, you must attach copies of qualifying language tests as well as proof of your education with your application.

Candidates who received Nova Scotia’s invitation have to apply for nomination for Canada PR before 11:59 pm on December 7, 2022.

Details of requirements under the Nova Scotia Labor Market Priorities stream

It’s required that immigration candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • They must receive an LOI (Letter of Interest or invitation) from the Nova Scotia PNP within the Canada Express Entry system.
  • They have to meet the minimum requirements prescribed for work experience for candidates under the Express Entry stream, which is the stream they qualified for.
  • They must show enough funds with them to establish themselves and their family in Nova Scotia besides paying their costs of immigration and expenses of travel.
  • They must have legal status in the country they are currently residents of.
  • They must meet the criteria for eligibility prevalent when they are issued an LOI (invitation).

About the Nova Scotia Labor Market Priorities Stream

Launched in August 2018, the Stream gives the province of Nova Scotia the flexibility of targeting select candidates and occupations. They will be selected through the Nova Scotia PNP.
