Highlights: 10% PNP candidates to be invited via Critical Worker program

• The New Brunswick Critical Worker Program (NBCWP) was launched in November 2022.
• The program is specifically for skilled immigrants who wish to migrate to Canada.
• The Federal government and the New Brunswick government have initiated the NBCWP.
• The NBCWP program is an employer-driven stream of the NBPNP with six primary employers who are qualified to participate.

New Brunswick Critical Worker Program (NBCWP)

The NBCWP is an employer-oriented stream that works on making up for the labor shortage in New Brunswick.

Six designated employers are assigned through the province of NB across various sectors and industries.

The list of employers for the NBCWP are –

• Cooke Aquaculture Inc.
• Groupe Savoie Inc.
• Groupe Westco
• Imperial Manufacturing
• D. Irving Ltd.
• McCain Foods

The program will be available for five years with prior evaluations and regulations.

Eligibility for the NBCWP

Candidates willing to apply for the program must meet the eligibility criteria given below –

• The candidates must have a valid job offer from an eligible employer in New Brunswick.
• The candidate must submit proof of intention to reside in the province.
• The employment offered to the candidate must have a wage or salary that aligns with the NB wages for that particular occupation.

The wage requirements stated by the government on the employment offer are –

• The salary offered must be comparable and similar to that of the wages paid to employees of the same skill level in New Brunswick.
• The salary compensation structure of the employer must be consistent.
