Luxembourg Residence Permit

Luxembourg recently made residence permits available for foreign workers to reside and seek employment there.

Residence permit for EU Nationals:

Citizens of Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein, along with EU Nationals, are not required to apply for a Residence permit. Individuals must, however, get a Registration certificate from the place of residence they are located at within the first three months of arriving in Luxembourg.

The citizens of EU/EEA must either be employed at a Luxembourg company or can be self-employed with resources and education to support themselves if they plan on staying for more than three months.

Individuals who have lived in Luxembourg for three consecutive years can then qualify to become permanent residents.

Residence permit for Non-EU Nationals:

Non-EU nationals who wish to stay in Luxembourg for over three months are required to acquire a visa. The documents needed for the residence permit must be either in French, German, or English.
