If you are intending to work in Australia, the way ahead is to get nominated via Skilled Nomination programs conducted by the Department of Home Affairs. One such popular opportunity is Canberra’s nomination program.
All visas used to enter Australia are issued by the Australian Government. The policies and procedures of the Department of Home Affairs govern the visa applications submitted.
Those eligible for applying could be skilled workers or businesspeople. They are required to demonstrate the commitment to migrating to Canberra. In such a case, they can express an interest in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) nomination.
The ACT of Canberra uses a Canberra Matrix points system which is score-based. The scores can be used to figure out eligible candidates interested to live and work in Australia in the ACT. Canberra offers amazing job opportunities, excellent education, affordable housing, and a multi-cultural environment.
Foreign skilled workers can apply for permanent residence through 2 channels namely:
A recent round of Canberra matrix was conducted on April 3, 2020. The round involved ACT state sponsorship to apply for which the Canberra Matrix must first be filed. Only then an Invitation to Apply (ITA) will be procured enabling to apply for state sponsorship.
