All invitations to potential sponsors of parents or grandparents who applied under the PGP program2020’s lottery has been sent by IRCC.
It was 2 weeks ago that IRCC conducted the PGP 2020 lottery. The PGP lottery is a Canada immigration event that decides on the Interest to Sponsor submitted by a Canadian citizen or Canada PR (sponsors) to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada to live with them. In the PGP lottery, invitations are sent to chosen applicants who can then proceed to bring their parents or grandparents to live with them.
In the latest round of selection, IRCC sent invitations to random candidates. IRCC is aiming at receiving 10,000 completed applications via the PGP program 2020. The potential sponsors now have 60 calendar days to file a completed application.
IRCC has also issued a message for those who successfully filed a sponsorship application but haven’t got an email of invitation. IRCC has asked such sponsors to check through their inbox/junk mail to see if they have missed reading IRCC’s email. The invitation status can be checked on the IRCC website too.
IRCC encourages those who weren’t invited to apply in the 2020 round to submit their Interest to Sponsor again in 2021. Canada is planning to issue up to 30,000 invites under the PGP program in 2021.
