CELPIP and IELTS are the 2 major proficiency tests for English needed for candidates trying to get a Canadian Permanent Residency (PR).
Canada recognizes these tests and uses the test scores to decide if a candidate is eligible by checking his/her profile in the Express Entry system.
After the COVID-19 outbreak, Canada imposed restrictions. Only essential services have been permitted. Due to this, many candidates didn’t get the opportunity to attend IELTS and CELPIP tests.
Now, test takers can reach out to IELTS and CELPIP test centers at various locations around the world. Canada Immigrants from countries that are major sources now have these test centers reopened for candidates to give their exams.
From June 15, 2020, the IELTS test centers are reopened in 72 countries. These include major sourcing countries for Canada immigration like:
International students, temporary foreign workers, and other temporary residents and visitors now in Canada can make booking for their IELTS now in different provinces in the country. These include Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, and Quebec.

It's recommended that after test completion, the process of submission of the application be done at the earliest.
Those outside Canada have a big chance to get a provincial nomination. It can almost seal the chances of getting a permanent residence.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will also hold draws in time for Federal Skilled Worker Program candidates and Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates with profiles in the Express Entry pool will then get the advantage when these draws are held.
Candidates within Canada have a better chance of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence. This could happen within days of submitting a profile in the Express Entry system.
The cut-off scores needed for CEC and PNP draws that were conducted recently have decreased to the lowest levels, counting from 2017. It’s the best time to migrate to Canada.
