How to apply work visa for Germany?

• Proof that you have enough funds for a six-month stay in Germany
• Proof that you have accommodation for the six months you will be in the country

The Jobseeker visa gives you a one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit Germany and gives you six months to find work. If you can find work during these six months, you can convert your visa to a work permit. If you do not find work within six months, you will be forced to leave the country.

If you do find work in Germany during the six-month timeframe, you must first apply for a work permit visa. You can either convert your Jobseeker visa to a Work permit visa while in Germany or return to your home country and apply for a work permit based on the offer letter.

To apply for this visa, you do not need an employment offer from a German employer.

The visa has a six-month validity period.

You can convert your visa to a work permit if you can find work in Germany within six months.

You must leave Germany if you do not find work within six months.

Application process

1. Prepare your application for a work visa in Germany in advance. Gather all of the necessary documents, including the German work visa application form, for the visa you wish to apply for.
2. Make an appointment. You can schedule a German work visa interview appointment on the German mission's website in your country. They will not accept your documents or application if you do not schedule an appointment before visiting the Application Center.
3. On the day of the interview ensure you arrive on time at the application center, since late applications may not be accepted. You will be given a token after your appointment letter has been verified. It takes about 10 minutes to finish the submission procedure.
4. After your application has been verified, all of the information on the application form will be uploaded into the German consulate's online system, and you will receive a printed copy of your application. This procedure takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes on average.
5. Pay the application fees for a work visa. You will get a receipt which you must retain with you.
6. Biometrics will be collected after the application is completed. The Embassy or consulate where you have applied will process your application.

The processing time takes around 3 to 4 months.
