Requirements to request a PAL in Alberta

International students may have to provide proof of further commitment to studying in their specific DLI to request a PAL. The specific DLI in the province shows particular requirements that students need to fulfill.

The DLI pages of the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary mention that students need to pay a deposit amount while accepting their offer of admission to make them qualify to request a PAL from the Government of Alberta. Students will get an e-mail from most Albertan Universities when their PAL is available for downloading.

How do I get a PAL in Manitoba?

According to IRCC's reports, as of March 04, 2024, the Government of Manitoba began issuing PALs to international students. DLIs across the province are to deliver PALs in Manitoba, the same as in Alberta.

International students seeking a PAL in Manitoba also need to deposit a certain amount to their DLI so that the institution can apply for a PAL on their behalf.

Requirements to request a PAL in Manitoba

As per the official page of the University of Manitoba, students are to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit of CAD 2000 to the university using a credit card. The payment must be made within ten business days when a decision has been made on a student's application.

Other DLIs in the province may have different requirements for requesting PALs on a student's behalf. Students, therefore, are advised to check the requirements section thoroughly while applying to their chosen schools.
