What motivated Singapore?

World nations are making great efforts to go back to the growth trends of the pre-COVID era. Top economies of the world like Germany, the UK, and the UAE are sharply focusing on bringing in more highly-talented top achievers from overseas to meet their scarcity of workers.

Singapore understands the significance of this move and is taking its own stride on the same path to ensure better growth and improved stability. Singapore’s Minister of Manpower, Tan See Leng stated that the country is seeking quality rather than quantity. This indicates that whatever step Singapore is taking in relation to immigration, the aim is to utilize the contribution of exceptional skills and talent in people.

What’s Singapore aiming at?

Singapore is aiming at boosting innovation and improving productivity, which are key requirements for the country. The country wants to raise value addition in the manufacturing sector by 50%.  Singapore is also aiming at increasing its annual exports to S$1 trillion by 2030. This will come to $712 billion.

Another policy Singapore wants to implement is to provide improved flexibility in the job sectors. This will mean measures like accommodating a wider variety of people and their partners.
