Germany will issue citizenship applications in 2025

According to recent stats, over 21,000 people have been naturalized in Berlin. In 2025, the state officer announced plans to grant 40,000 German citizens. Germany launched the Department of State Officers for Immigration (LAE), replacing the city’s twelve district naturalization offices.

Germany introduced a New Citizenship Law to increase the number of Citizenship applications

Germany introduced New Citizenship Law which allows applicants to acquire citizenship within a shorter period of time. As per the new citizenship law foreign nationals obtaining a German citizenship are not required to give up their previous nationality. Since June 27, the New Naturalisation Law took effect about 6,000 naturalisation application has been submitted in Hamburg.
