What’s new to expect from Express Entry in 2023?

  • While working to bring in more eligible foreign workers into the country to solve labor scarcity, Express Entry is also focusing on inviting more French-speaking candidates to live and work outside Quebec.
  • As per the present plan, Canada intends to invite 55,900 newcomers through Express Entry in 2022. This will increase to 111,500 by the closing of the year 2024.
  • IRCC is now mulling the prospect of conducting Express Entry draws that target specific skills and occupations. This will be a deviation from the present system that relies solely on a CRS score.
  • In the new scheme of things in Express Entry, Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser will have a say in the decisions made on which categories of immigration candidates are invited.
