Sean Fraser, the Immigration Minister of Canada, announced reducing the Canada temporary visa processing time for Pakistanis.
For Pakistanis, temporary visa processing time will now be reduced from 2 years to 2 months or less.
Visitors, students, tourists, and skilled foreign workers can apply for a Canada Temporary visa.
The backlog for temporary resident visas for Pakistanis has been reduced to 15,000 from 55,000.

The country is the seventh most crucial benefactor of permanent residents to Canada.
In 2022, 11,585 Pakistanis relocated to Canada as permanent residents.

The Economic Class programs are further categorized into 3 programs that include –

Canada's Federal Economic class programs are conducted via the Express Entry Draws and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Candidates who wish to participate in the Express Entry Draw must create a profile. (Profiles with a high score are offered Invitations to Apply by the IRCC).
Sixty days are assigned to candidates with an ITA to apply.
A minimum CRS score of 600 is required to qualify for the Express Entry Draw. Factors like age, language proficiency, work experience, and education are considered to assign the points.
