There are many pathways offered by Canada to immigrate to the country. Canada immigration candidates could well choose the most appropriate pathway to move to Canada. The major pathways most of the immigration aspirants use are Express Entry and PNP (Provincial Nominee Program).
In order to apply for Canada PR through Express Entry, you have to first create a profile that says all about your credentials including factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. These factors get evaluated and points are assigned to them, creating their CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. This score is important in deciding your chances of getting a chance to immigrate to Canada.
Alternatively, you can take the provincial immigration route. You will be submitting an EOI (Expression of Interest) through which you express a province that you are willing to immigrate there once you move to Canada. The PNP system is unique to each province. Each province will be choosing a suitable candidate by scrutinizing the EOI submitted and the points assigned. These candidates are chosen for their abilities to meet the labor and economic needs of the province.
Pathways under PNP may be linked to Express Entry. In that case, the candidate will need to create a profile in the Express Entry candidate pool before submitting an EOI or after they get nominated for Canada PR.

You will be glad to know that there’s nothing stopping you from applying with multiple economic immigration streams for permanent residence. You could be eligible to apply through Express Entry but if you apply also through a PNP program, you can improve your chances to get selected for a Canada PR visa.
However, the point that you have to remember with multiple applications is this: If IRCC has to approve one application, you have to withdraw the other one you have made. You have to withdraw other applications before the decision is made on one by the IRCC. |
As obvious as it sounds, upon withdrawing an application for PR, you won’t be eligible for a refund of any fees paid before processing of the application began.

Surely, there’s no way you can have more than one Express Entry profile at a time. Having more than one Express Entry profile won’t fetch you a better opportunity to get invited by IRCC. It can neither allow you to receive an invitation under another immigration program.
Every application through Express Entry has a principal applicant (PA) and additional applicants. These additional applicants can be your family members like

If you are the PA, you can add a spouse and dependent children to the application. It’s wiser to choose the candidate in the application with the highest CRS score to become the PA while applying for Canada PR.
