Canada has, as per the new data given by IRCC, done with the processing of 57,365 Canada PR applications via Express Entry in 2020. The country has kept going with resolve through the tough times of COVID-19 and achieved a decent chunk of its big goals. The country will get much better at it and come back with a top-performing Canada immigration as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic is contained in the near future.
Here’s how the new PRs were added across different streams:
Most of the applications processed were submitted before the COVID-related travel restrictions were imposed by Canada. Most of the immigration candidates invited between March 2020 and August 2020 came under CEC or PNP immigration streams. That means the data from these times do not really reflect the optimal performance the country could have achieved in issuing Canada PR visas.
As the COVID-19 scenario is coming to a more containable phase with vaccines close to being made available across the world, the data of 2021 will be much better. Much larger new immigrants are expected to call Canada home in 2021.
