Canada has been doing a lot to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the health and well-being of Canadians on priority. Canada introduced several travel restrictions from March 18, 2020.
Canada immigration has been under check since March 2020 when the COVID-19 broke out in Canada. Restrictions and prohibitions on optional and discretionary travel across the border were imposed. These were applicable both for the US and the rest of the world. All travelers entering Canada have to compulsorily undergo a 14-day quarantine or self-isolation.
Now, a fresh announcement has been made by Minister of Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness, Bill Blair, and Minister of Health, Patty Hajdu. It's announced that the restrictive orders on travel and compulsory quarantine will be extended. They will be in effect till January 21, 2021, for all except US nationals. Canada travel visas will be very strictly regulated in the wake of this extension owing to a pandemic preventive policy.
US nationals and foreigners arriving in Canada from the US will follow restrictive measures and quarantine till December 21, 2020.
