On December 9, 2020, Canada had a federal Express Entry draw conducted that invited 5,000 immigration candidates to apply for Canada PR.
The candidates who participated in the Express Entry draw were foreign nationals who have their EOI profiles in the federal Express Entry pool.
The lowest CRS score that an eligible candidate required in this round of Express Entry draw was 469.
Only Canada immigration candidates who were eligible to receive an invitation were the ones who ranked in the general ranking amongst the first 5,000 eligible foreign nationals.
A tie-break rule was also applied in this round. The timestamp used was June 4, 2020, at 22:26:05 UTC. This implies that if more than one candidate had a CRS score of 469 or more, the ones who submitted their profiles before the timestamp will get invited.
Things to know about the Express Entry system
The federal government of Canada uses the Express Entry system to manage the applications of immigration candidates through its 3 economy-class immigration categories namely FSTP, FSWP, and CEC.
With the points-based system applied on each candidate profile submitted in the pool, called CRS, each candidate is ranked based on factors like:
The highest-ranking candidates make it to the list of candidates who are invited to apply for a Canada PR visa.
Now, there are extra 50 points given to candidates for having strong French language skills.
