The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program conducted its Express Entry draw for the Occupations In-demand sub-category on 20th September 2018. 140 Invitations to Apply were issued in this draw and the lowest ranked candidate has a score of 75 on the SINP point’s grid.
SINP replaced its system of first come first serve in July this year, as per CIC News. This is the second draw that the province has conducted post the change. Immigrants wishing to migrate to Saskatchewan under the Occupations In-demand and the Saskatchewan Express Entry categories can begin by registering themselves in the SINP’s OASIS online system. They also need to submit an Expression of Interest profile.
Candidates who have at least one-year work experience in an occupation listed on the Saskatchewan Occupations In-demand list may apply under the Occupations In-demand category.
SINP Expression of Interest profiles are assessed on the basis of the candidate’s age, education, work experience, language proficiency etc. Using the Saskatchewan’s unique assessment point’s grid, profiled are then assigned a score out of a total of 100. Candidates must score at least 60 points in order to be eligible.
The SINP follows the below steps to rank applications in the EOI pool:
It identifies the Express Entry candidate scoring the highest points
Candidates who have a connection to the province of Saskatchewan are prioritized. Connection to Saskatchewan could be a close relative living in the province, past education and/or work experience in the province.
Candidates with more work experience and better language scores are prioritized
Candidates who have received invitations in this draw will have 60 days time to submit their application for Permanent Residency of Canada to IRCC.
