On April 28, 2021, Canada invited 381 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canada permanent resident visa.
The invited candidates had already been provincially nominated via a PNP draw. They were granted 600 extra CRS points which raised their CRS cut-off score to 717. Their basic CRS score was at least 117.
A tie-break rule was implemented in this Canada immigration draw with the timestamp of March 16, 2021, at 21:20:50 UTC. So, only those candidates who submitted their Express Entry profiles with IRCC before the timestamp got invited.
About Express Entry
When Canada needs to manage the applications for immigration, it uses its Express Entry system. The system is tasked with managing the immigration applications for federal high-skilled programs namely CEC, FSTP, and FSWP.
Few PNPs also use the Express Entry to invite candidates to apply for a provincial nomination which leads to their applying for Canada PR.
The profiles made by immigration candidates in the Express Entry system are ranked by CRS. The scores given to rank are based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language skills in English/French.
Candidates with the highest scores get invited via the issuance of ITAs. The candidates are required to file a detailed application after receiving the ITA which will be subject to review and decision with authorities in Canada.
