The number looked spectacular for Canada immigration in November 2021, when the country welcomed more than 47,000 new immigrants. How often did you see any country break its own record of newcomers, month over month? That happened in Canada since September 2021.
Till now, Canada has welcomed over 361,000 immigrants in 2021. Now, as the year is going to end soon, it has to be seen whether the country is going to achieve its ambitious immigration levels target of 401,000 newcomers.
IRCC has been playing it smart in the past few months by prioritizing immigration candidates present within the country to be invited for a Canada PR visa. If the Omicron variant is going to mess with Canada’s immigration plan, IRCC can always fall back on transitioning eligible temporary residents to permanent residents via PNP and CEC streams.
Here’s how the first 11 months of 2021 went for Canada immigration:
Month | Total new immigrants |
January | 24,679 |
February | 23,395 |
March | 22,390 |
April | 21,170 |
May | 17,465 |
June | 35,796 |
July | 39,705 |
August | 37,814 |
September | 45,152 |
October | 46,371 |
November | 47,434 |
Total | 361,371 |
Over 40,000 newcomers in December 2021, can lead Canada to achieve its immigration target for 2021. We will bring that news too to you as soon as it happens!
