Here’s the latest on the Canada immigration draw scene.
Canada held an Express Entry draw on March 31, 2021. 284 new immigrants were invited to apply for Canada PR.
The candidates who were chosen in this draw already had a provincial nomination to receive an ITA. Their CRS cut-off score was 778.
The basic score of these provincially nominated candidates started from 178. Adding 600 extra points they are granted due to the provincial nomination.
In the draw, the tie-break rule was implemented with the timestamp used being March 16, 2021, at 16:09:32 UTC. This means that the candidates had a minimum of 778 as the CRS score and had submitted their Express Entry profiles before the timestamp specified.
The Canadian government is still doing all that’s needed to achieve the target of 401,000 new immigrants in 2021. Most of these will be done via immigration programs managed by the Express Entry system.
The Express Entry system manages immigration applications for the federal immigration programs of FSTP, FSWP, and CEC. Every candidate with a profile registered with the Express Entry system is ranked by CRS. The score is based on factors like education, work experience, age, and language skills in English or French.
The highest scorers get ITAs to apply to become a Canadian permanent resident.
