Highlights:
Canada recently announced that it would resume processing Express Entry applications within 6 months from July 2022. It will be effective once IRCC starts sending Express Entry Invitation to applicants under the FSTP or Federal Skilled Trades Program, FSWP or Federal Skilled Workers Program, and CEC or Canadian Express Class stream.
Earlier, the waiting period for applicants who were not categorized under the CEC stream was 20 months.

Skilled Workers in Canada
Express Entry is the primary method through which Canada welcomes foreign nation immigrants to its population. The skilled workers are the primary beneficiaries of the move. FSWP acted as an effective method through which skilled workers were invited to Canada PR or permanent residency.
The record-breaking 405,000 invitations in 2021 had the most applicants from the CEC stream.
Job Vacancies in Canada
The resumption of draws is positive news for Canadian employers. The report by Statistics Canada states there are over 800,000 job vacancies in Canada. The country is also witnessing the lowest unemployment rates ever. Employers need more immigrant workers to address the shortage in the labor force.
The Express Entry will be processing new applications in under six months. It implies that employers in Canada will have access to more human resources in the future. It will be an essential factor in supporting Canada's economic recovery post-pandemic.
Even if the immigrants arrive in Canada before July, there are still chances of being issued an ITA or Invitation to Apply through the Canada Provincial Nominal Program.
