Abstract: British Columbia is recruiting nurses who are foreign-trained with the financing of 12 million CAD.
Highlights:
In the Pacific Province of Canada, British Columbia plans to recruit more nurses who have trained abroad in the province. It would be investing 12 million CAD to make it more accessible and cheaper for them to get their credentials assessed and recognized in the province.
It would make it easier for them to be recruited.
Health Match British Columbia would be associating with the BCCNM or British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and NCAS or Nursing Community Assessment Service to work for this initiative.

PNP and Skilled Worker Programs for International Nurses
The foreign national workers who meet the qualifications required to work in Canada as nurses can find employment here and obtain Canada PR or permanent residency with the help of the various programs of economic immigration at the levels of federal and provincial authority. It includes the system of Express Entry and PNP or Provincial Nominee Programs for the schedule of Skilled Worker in Quebec.
With the help of the Express Entry, the nurses can qualify under the FSWP or Federal Skilled Worker program if their CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System scores meet the cut-off score.
The nurses can come to Canada through the program of Skilled Worker of Quebec if they are able to score 50 points or more in the selection grid of the province.
The nurses who are registered nurses and have a degree of nursing from the university, psychiatric nurses who are registered and have a degree of undergraduate or post-graduate in psychiatric nursing, and practical nurses with license, or practical nurses registered in Ontario with a post-secondary diploma in nursing, are eligible to apply for this Canadian program.
1,500 nurses to get their credentials assessed
The government plans to invest 9 million CAD in bursaries to financially aid the nurses to get their credentials assessed as a proof that they meet the requirements of Canada. Around 1,500 nurses will benefit from this move.
The rest of the amount, which is approximate, 3 million CAD, will be used for the consolidation of the assessment processes for the province-based nurses who have trained overseas and the generation of nurse navigator positions to aid the international nurses coming to Canada to navigate the process of assessment and licensing.
