The labor market scene of British Columbia

When Q1 of 2022 passed, British Columbia’s employment rate stood at –0.1%. This could be observed as a standstill position compared to previous months.

However, the year-over-year growth in employment stood strong at 4.4%. Annual gains in employment in the services-producing sector covered the losses incurred in the goods-producing sector. The gains in the service-producing sector were 6% while that of the goods-producing sector was -2.5%.
