Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil had some good news for potential immigrants across the world who are interested in Australia immigration. She has announced that the Australian government will increase its immigrant intake by 35,000 persons. The country work towards achieving a total number of 195,000 new immigrants in Australia in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.

So, O’Neil made the announcement in a two-day summit of 140 government representatives, business and industry representatives, and trade unions. The summit was intended to address the issue of shortage of skills in various industrial sectors. This has been an issue worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic.
