You too can register your interest in applying for a nomination for ACT (Australian Capital Territory). For this, you will have to complete a ‘Canberra Matrix’ which has a score-based system. Here, points can be claimed to refer to specific criteria. These include skilled employment, formal qualifications, English proficiency, investment activity, length of ACT residence or study, and close family ties, among other factors.
As said above, if you are interested in moving to ACT where there are many job opportunities for skilled foreigners in the Australian territory. To move there, you are required to score enough points on a Canberra Matrix.
It’s a system under which points for many factors are determined and weighed. This will ensure that selected applicants will have more chances to be ranked and invited to apply for an ACT nomination. These are candidates who will make/have made a positive contribution to the economy of the Australian territory and/or have shown a commitment to the ACT which is genuine.

Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa) lets you reside and work in Australia as an Australia PR. You must get a nomination from the government of an Australian state or territory. With the nomination, you get an opportunity to receive a visa invitation from Australia’s Department of Home Affairs.
For receiving a nomination from the ACT to apply for a Subclass 190 visa, you have to live and work in Canberra for a minimum of 2 years from the date of the visa grant. Or else, in case you are arriving in the ACT from overseas, the arrival date in Canberra is counted.
The Subclass 491 (Skilled Regional Work Visa) is a five-year provisional visa. It’s meant for skilled workers who want to live and work in regional Australia. To move to such a region, you have to be nominated by the government of an Australian state/territory.
Once you receive a nomination, it causes the issuance of a visa invitation from the Department of Home Affairs in Australia.
If you receive a nomination by the ACT to apply for a Subclass 491 visa, you have to live and work in Canberra for a minimum of 2 years from the date of the visa grant. Or else, in case you are arriving in the ACT from overseas, the arrival date in Canberra is counted.
