Recently, as per the Labour Force Survey of Statistics Canada, employment in the country increased by 22,000. Canada also saw an increase in employment in December 2022 and January 2023.
The unemployment rate in February stayed the same at 5.0%.
Between the age groups of 25-54, employment remained primarily unchanged.
In February, the employment growth in women increased by 30,000 (+1.9%) between the 55-64 age groups; with over 6 in every 10 women being employed. 58.9% of women aged 15 and above were employed.
